The Complicated Coach offers commercial consultancy across four areas: structure, brand, people and growth. There are three ways to work together:
Consultancy and Growth Partnership: ongoing commercial support alongside you and your leadership team. Fractional Commercial Director: senior commercial leadership within your business. Commercial Advisory: a one-off session on a specific issue or decision.
There is also a free Business Health Check for an initial view of where your business needs attention.

Founder-led businesses, established SMEs and charities that are ready to make their next stage of growth more deliberate. I have a particular interest in independent, natural, sustainable and purpose-led brands.

Look for someone with real commercial experience of growing a business, not just coaching qualifications. Through a Growth Partnership, The Complicated Coach looks at the commercial evidence, agrees priorities and owners, and then meets on a regular rhythm to support decisions and review progress. If you need senior leadership inside the business, a Fractional Commercial Director role may suit you better.
-
An experienced consultant gives you an outside view of what's holding the business back, honest challenge on your decisions and a clear plan you can act on. It means you're not carrying every commercial decision on your own, and progress doesn't depend on you alone.
-
Both. A Growth Partnership is ongoing, with an agreed remit, meeting rhythm and review point. A Commercial Advisory session is a one-off: you bring the relevant information and leave with decisions, priorities and next actions.
-
A fractional commercial director gives you senior commercial leadership without a full-time hire. Jodie joins your leadership rhythm to shape the commercial plan, support decisions and bring accountability to delivery. The remit, responsibilities and level of involvement are agreed before work starts.
-
Investment depends on the agreed remit, so there isn't a fixed package. We agree the scope, priorities and level of involvement first, and any additional delivery, such as website or marketing work, is scoped separately.

The Business Health Check is a free online quiz that gives you an initial view of how your business is working and where it needs attention. It's a useful starting point if you're not sure where to focus first.
