My Journey of Launching with Purpose

For two decades, I thrived in the financial services industry—navigating leadership, strategy, and high-pressure decision-making. It was a world defined by structure, performance, and clear expectations.

But in early 2024, I made a decision that shifted everything.

I left behind the security of my senior role to build something of my own: The Complicated Coach.

It was a leap many think about—but far fewer actually take.

The transition was exhilarating, terrifying, and at times, overwhelming. I went from leading teams to being a solo entrepreneur. From structured days to creating my own momentum. From external validation to internal decision-making.

And at the centre of it all was one clear driver: a desire to help others find clarity, overcome barriers, and step into their potential—without overcomplicating the process.

Breaking Barriers & Building Belief

Launching The Complicated Coach wasn’t just about starting a business.

It was about challenging my own thinking.

Like many women stepping into entrepreneurship, I faced imposter syndrome. The pressure to prove myself. The quiet but persistent question: Am I really cut out for this?

The answer wasn’t immediate confidence.

It was willingness.

Willingness to learn. To adapt. To make decisions without having all the answers. To build something that actually aligned with my values rather than what looked “right” on paper.

That’s what shifted everything.

Lessons from the Launch

Looking back, there are three lessons that shaped how I navigated the early stages—and continue to shape how I work with clients today:

Clarity is everything
Whether you're launching a business, shifting careers, or reassessing your direction, clarity is non-negotiable. Not perfect clarity—but enough to move forward with intention. Coaching played a huge role in helping me define my “why” and make decisions from a place of alignment rather than uncertainty.

You don’t need all the answers—just the next step
If I had waited for the perfect plan, this business wouldn’t exist. Progress came from taking action, reflecting, and refining. Clarity followed movement—not the other way around.

Community matters more than you think
Surrounding yourself with the right people changes everything. Being in spaces with like-minded women reminded me that while entrepreneurship can feel isolating, it doesn’t have to be done alone.

The Feature: Stepping Into Visibility

One of the standout moments in this journey was being featured and sharing my story publicly.

At the time, it felt like a big step—not just professionally, but personally.

Talking about the transition from corporate to entrepreneurship, the uncertainty, and the reality behind building something from scratch required a different level of honesty. It wasn’t about presenting a polished version of success. It was about sharing the in-between—the parts that are often left out.

What I spoke about most was clarity.

How easy it is to get caught up in what you think your business should look like. How important it is to pause, reflect, and actually define what success means to you—before you start building towards it.

And perhaps most importantly, I shared that it’s okay not to have everything figured out.

That message resonated more than I expected.

Because so many people are in that exact space—capable, driven, but unclear on their next move.

What I’ve Learned Since

Since that feature, a lot has evolved.

The business has grown. My thinking has sharpened. And my approach has become more focused.

What I’ve learned is this:

Clarity isn’t something you reach once and hold onto forever.

It’s something you return to.

As your business evolves, your priorities shift. What worked at the beginning won’t always serve you at the next stage. And that’s where many people get stuck—not because they’re doing something wrong, but because they haven’t paused to realign.

I’ve also learned that simplicity wins.

The more complex you make your business, your messaging, or your decisions, the harder it becomes to move forward. Stripping things back—focusing on what actually matters—is where momentum comes from.

Coaching: The Real Game-Changer

One of the biggest confirmations since launching The Complicated Coach is just how powerful coaching is for women stepping into new chapters.

Not just as a tool—but as a space.

A space to think clearly.
A space to challenge your assumptions.
A space to make decisions with confidence.

Whether it’s unpacking limiting beliefs, setting direction, or building the confidence to take action, coaching changes how you show up—in your business and beyond.

If you’re currently navigating change, uncertainty, or growth, this is exactly the work we do inside:

Ready to Take the Next Step?

If you're standing at the edge of a decision—knowing something needs to change, but unsure what or how—you don’t have to figure it out alone.
